Haïti and Africa
I am a PhD Candidate at Laval University (Canada), working on: The Contribution of the maker movement to the sustainable development of Africa. For this purpose, I am studying 3 Fablabs based in Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Senegal. One aspect of my research is to describe how African cultural values are shaping making and to identify factors of exclusion inside makerspaces. Particularly with respect to women, I am looking the role they are playing inside makerspaces; their equitable access to activities, the preconceptions about traditional works and activities.
