I am a Principal Librarian at International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. I have 20 years of working experience both in public and private sector’s higher education institutions. I did my Masters in Library Science from University of the Punjab in 1997 and PhD from University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan in 2012 titled \\"Utility of IT in University Libraries of Pakistan\\". My eleven research papers have been published in journals of repute. I have participated in 28 national and international conferences / workshops / trainings. I have conducted many workshops and trainings for researchers, scholars and librarians for their capacity building in the areas of literature research, online databases, referencing of information, avoiding plagiarism and using document delivery services. I am also teaching courses leading to MS and Master’s in Library & Information Science at Vertex College of Science & Technology Islamabad,and Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. My areas of interest are bibliometric studies, information literacy and use of IT in libraries. I have served Pakistan Library Association (Federal Branch) as Assistant Secretary during 2007-2011; SLA Asian Chapter as a Country Representative during 2009-2010. I am also Country Contact for Infolit Global (An initiative of International Federation of Library Associations). I am the winner of ASIST SIG-III InfoShare Membership Award 2011 and First Place Winner of ASIST SIG-III\\'s International Research Paper Contest 2012. I have served as the pioneer Editor of “Akhbar-e-Shariah” and member of Editorial Committee of Info@PULISSA. My vision is to inculcate information literacy skills among the youth of Pakistan and to advocate for establishing public library system in the country.
