We use Sched as it allows us to create personal, always up to date schedules for everyone at OpenCon (and everyone who’s joining remotely). However, we know it can be a little tricky to use for some.
Below are some of the most common questions answered
How do I login or sign up?
You can sign up here, and login here - if you’ve used Sched before you’ll already have an account. We ask you use the email that we normally communicate with you through! That will make finding your personal schedule much easier.
To update your profile, make sure you’re logged in, and go here. Scroll down, and you’ll find your profile information (we’ve tried to get you started here!).
How do I find more information about a session? You can hover over a session title, or, click through. Usually, the session description should give you more information about a session.
First, make sure you’re logged in. Then, on https://opencon2017.sched.com or http://www.opencon2017.org/program click on the circles next to sessions you’d like to attend. For story circles, and some workshops, you’ll be assigned to a session. But you’re always able to choose what unconference sessions you’re interested in.
How do I find my Workshop?First, make sure you’re logged in. Then, click your face as shown.
This will take you to a page where you can see your personal information, and once you’ve scrolled down, will show you your workshop (this may not happen until Saturday!)
How do I find my Story Circle?First, make sure you’re logged in. Then, click your profile photo as shown below.
This will take you to a page where you can see your personal information, and once you’ve scrolled down, will show you your personal agenda. This will include your story circle close to the event (sometimes as late as Friday). We’ll assign you a story circle to go to, and everyone should have one. If you have none, or more than one, talk to an organizer.
I’m joining remote, how do I find what I can join? You can click this link to find just sessions that will be streamed live. Or, click “Remote” on the filters on the right hand side of the schedule.
Remote participants are also encouraged to take part in the discussion and action around OpenCon’s unconference, do-a-thon & workshops.
I don’t see my problem!Go to the helpdesk (where you registered) and we’ll give you a hand!
