Aliya Ibraimova is a project coordinator at Kyrgyz NGO CAMP Alatoo working for sustainable natural resource management to improve livelihoods of mountain communities. She has BA degree in Sociology from American University of Central Asia. In 2015 Aliya as a member of research team of CAMP Alatoo and University of Central Asia started implementation of Kyrgyz Mountains Environmental Education and Citizen Science (KMEECS) project within the framework of the Open and Collaborative Science in Development Network (OCSDNet). The main objective was to frame, understand and promote implications of Open Science in the post- soviet country with long lasting period of restricted information flow and deployed culture of openness. At present Aliya is working on dissemination of KMEECS project results as well as implementing and integrating citizen science activities in other projects of CAMP Alatoo as environmental education component.
